October 4th – 20th October 2013
Opening: Friday October 4th 2013 – h. 6:30 p. m.
Galleria Paola Verrengia, for the Nona Giornata del Contemporaneo, promoted by AMACI, will present the exhibition of works by Maurizio Elettrico, Biorema, a multimedia event inspired by a series of tales written by the artist and published for Dante e Descartes entitled Heaven ed altri racconti.
Biorema is a complex project promoted by the Fondazione Morra of Naples, that involves several realities of the Italian contemporary culture: Fondazione Morra Napoli, Galleria Paola Verrengia Salerno, Fondazione Salerno Contemporanea at Teatro Ghirelli and Fondazione Filiberto Menna Salerno.
The exhibition organized by Galleria Paola Verrengia will propose a visionary installation comprised of works created through the use of various materials such as bakelite, plexiglass, pvc and silicone.
The result is a work set in balance between figurative and abstract, played with materials that are both transparent and specular, opaque and colorful “in the construction of a story or theory of life” (M. Elettrico).
During the exhibition we’ll project the video Heaven, extrapolated from the renowned tale of the artist.
The monologue proposed in the video and interpreted by Patrizia Di Martino, is actually a dialogue with themselves, transferred into a hypothetical world of the future where angels and men are mixed up with one another in a process of perpetual reincarnation.
The project Biorema revolves around a complex chain of production where the same subject has been adapted to different media – creative writing, video, performance and theatrical representations, artistic objects. After the presentation of the show at the Galleria Paola Verrengia, the Fondazione Morra will present, at 9 pm, at the Fornace del Teatro Ghirelli of Salerno, the installation of Maurizio Elettrico Il Vestito dell’Anima, with the participation of Marina Confalone, who will interpret several pages of Diario di un alieno, an excerpt from Heaven. On October, 11th at 6 pm at the Sala del Teatro Ghirelli, Maurizio Elettrico will be the protagonist of Un Dialogo d’Artista curated by the Fondazione Filiberto Menna. The presentation, inserted in the cycle Extra Moenia, will see the artist in conversation with Antonello Tolve and Stefania Zuliani, who will discuss with the author of the bookHeaven e altri racconti (Libreria Dante&Descartes, 2013). The event will be coordinated by Angelo Trimarco.
