MARINA PARIS

Marina Paris expresses her artistic research through different forms of representation and different media: using drawing, installation and photographic images, the artist reconstructs interiors, places of memory as well as places of the present. Space in its incessant and constant transformation is the central theme around which the artist’s research revolves.
More than installations, his works are true reworkings of spaces, an interaction between architecture and art. This interest in architecture – understood as a filter for the perception of the surrounding space and a system of relations between man and the environment – invades almost all of his works. Collages of old postcards, torn or overlaid on maps, mark a repertoire of wandering spaces, in which the protagonist is the Italian territory and its metamorphoses.
Urban and domestic scenarios become the linguistic code with which Marina Paris speaks to that humanity whose presence she never reveals. Collective references and architectural components become anthropological tools for the artist to investigate the identity of contemporary man, while metaphysical interiors, created with collages of tissue paper and or cardboard of various coloured weights, coin new environments and new contexts.
