CARLOS AIRES
(Ronda, 1974)
The world-famous Spanish artist is particularly committed to ‘capturing’ images from the web, with which he develops his research by creating installations, videos, photographs and sculptures. For Aires, the Internet is the main source of inspiration, where everything is mixed up and nothing is as it seems “Behind every truth, on which an official story is based, there is another truth, behind every winner there is a loser and behind every fairytale prince there is a dwarf” (C. Aires). Among his best-known works is the LOVE IS IN THE AIR series where, by cutting out vinyl, he depicts a shocking double reality.
